由1715名中小學生參與的關注學童脊柱側彎調查當中，約一成半疑有脊柱側彎，以突發性脊柱側彎最為常見，有約八成青少年出現有關情況，由於沒有明確的成因，建議及早介入作出治療。

有基金會支持香港理工大學科研團隊、醫護人員及議員，走訪本港多所中、小學校，為小五到中一的學生提供免費脊柱側彎檢查。結果發現在接受評估的學生中，有約13.4%學生出現懷疑脊柱側彎。
